Review: McBob's Pub & Grill - Milwaukee

Restaurant: McBob's Pub & Grill

I have a new second favorite bar. (Nothing will ever top Dam Inn).

I sat next to Michael Stern for an hour bus ride in Louisiana a few months ago. When I entered McBob's at 5ish on a Friday afternoon I cracked up. I can't imagine him here. The bar was full: to my left were two drywall contractors pounding bud lights and Bushmills... on my right was a Romanian taxi driver muttering into his vodka-and-something.

I love this place.

According to Stern's review I needed to try the fish fry and the corned beef. Both were amazing. The corned beef sandwich was hand sliced and - it was just ridiculous, you need to eat this. The walleye was flaky and perfect... Served with potato pancakes and applesauce and buttered rye - brilliant.

I know this blog is relatively new; but, I haven't been this enthralled by a place in a very long time... please check out McBob's next time you're in Wisconsin.
